There are a few things I miss about living in Europe but none quite as much as our market days. We would walk to the square where there were rows and rows of vegetables, fruits, breads, pastry, meat, eggs, unpasteurized milk, spices, chickens roasting, fresh flowers sprawling out and down every neighboring hilly cobblestone street. It was the stuff of dreams. Exactly the kind of charm you would expect from a European city. We have wonderful markets here but there is something about the availability of such amazing food and maybe just the sheer romance of feeling as though you've stepped into a novel that makes me nostalgic for them.
Tomorrow is our second pop-up flower market and I am hoping to bring that same energy and charm to your Saturday in Cincinnati. To aid in that we will have croissants, pain au chocolat, croissants aux amande, and pain aux raisins from French Crust and of course coffee from Deeper Roots to keep you company while you shop for a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
11-4 tomorrow, Saturday the 26th at the shop, 6040 Hamilton Ave. See you there!
